New clip in the Video Box.
The third and final part of Fin Halligan's interview with CYF on the "Talk of Asia" chat show
is now online. Some good news: I have secured more space on the webserver, so I will be adding more clips
withougt having to remove the popular ones already online. The ones which don't get as many hits will be
retired, but some favorites (such as the LIAFC trailer) will again be available along with more new ones.
I hope to have a "Radio Tycoon" clip online later this weekend, it's just a matter of getting it uploaded.

Video Box updated.
New clips are now available in the Video Box. Another update will happen soon,
with a guest review and maybe at long last my thoughts on Anna and The King.

September wallpaper now available.
This month it's a close-up of CYF from the TV show "Police Cadet '85". For those interested,
new video clips will be added in about ten days, including the second part of the CNBC interview,
CYF at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards and a clip from See-Bar that you just have to see
to believe.

Listing of films in Chinese and English.
As a tool for non-Chinese speakers, a listing of CYF's films in traditional Chinese
characters and their English equivalents is offered. Both a graphics (.gif) file and
a Microsoft Word document version are offered. Neither require Chinese language
support. This should be helpful when visiting video stores to both compare titles (English titles don't necessarily remain the same, whereas the Chinese titles most often do) and to
ask for assistance from someone who might be most familiar with a movie under its Chinese name.
I hope you find the file useful, no matter which format you choose. To access the file, you can either
use the link off of the Site Info page (site info button on main index page menu) or you can access it
directly by clicking here.

A massive update and a new look.
Finally, after more months of waiting than I care to count, the Free Man In Hong Kong site is able to expand once again. In the past
week the site has undergone a major overhaul. Working on a mirror of the site on the new host, the site has been given some
improvements such as, at long last, the return of the Video Box. Along with it is a new audio files area, an updated look to the top page, a sitemap, easier to
understand links to companion sites, updated information on the site itself and more info is being added to older film reviews. A new
format was adopted a few months ago, which added media catalogue numbers and other pertinent information, and I am slowly updating all of
the older film reviews to conform to the new format. Chinese titles will appear on all reviews when finished as well. In the next
couple of days I will be adding a printer-friendly page consisting of a listing of CYF film titles in Chinese characters and in English
to assist non-Chinese speakers on shopping trips. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the redesigned site; if you find any errors or
broken links please let me know.

2 FAQ corrections and more housekeeping.
Two small corrections were made to the CYF FAQ - Idy Chan isn't a singer, so she's now referred to simply as
an actress. For some reason I put that "Angels and Devils" is also known as "The Yang's Saga" and of
course that isn't true. Must be advancing age. Anyway, thank you to "canuck21" for catching these
errors.

housekeeping
Just doing a little housekeeping. The Ladies' Lounge has been spruced up a little bit and
the image galleries have been removed, since they were redundant with the galleries elsewhere
on the site. A note about the imminent return of the Video Box was added. Some dead HTML
was removed which you never saw unless you did a search on it... and there were some out there
who did, so I just deleted it to save any confusion. And for the person who keeps searching on
"sex+vomit", would you stop, please? I don't know why you're looking for it, but I promise you,
it's not here.

shows off an expensive sweater from a fashion layout. By request a
wallpaper of CYF and Michelle Yeoh has been added from Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon.

Links and Resources areas updated.
The links section has two new sites and a few changes made to existing links. A few changes have also been made to the Resources section. I'm currently
looking at a bunch more sites which sell DVDs and VCDs and will be listing those as soon as I get a chance to check them out. The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon DVD arrived
the other day and I'm about 2/3 of the way through it making screen captures, so a fairly extensive image gallery will be online in the next couple of days
as well.

been added to Hong Kong Heartbreaker, the companion site to Free Man which
covers the early career of CYF. You can click on the banner below the main

Love In A Fallen City review and gallery updated.
The review and gallery for LIAFC has been updated to reflect my acquisition (FINALLY, after 14 months of searching) of the
Japanese laserdisc. There is also a screensaver for this film available in the Screensavers area featuring images from the
Japanese movie pamphlet. I have the trailer recorded... now all I need is the space to store it. Hopefully that will work itself
out soon. MIT seems to have given up on honou.net, so I'm fighting with my phone company to get a DSL line. When that happens (or
when I find another alternative) the Video Box will go online again with the LIAFC trailer and a number of others I've recorded.
It will work itself out one of these days, but I just don't know when at this point. Oh, and: Happy New Year.
