Over time, it's become obvious to me that I have very little to say about the recent work of Chow Yun-Fat. Movies based on comic books and pirate legends, while fun diversions, really don't seem all that noteworthy. This is not to say that I think his talent, or worth, is lessened. Just my personal tastes don't coincide with his choices.

Because of this, from this point on the Free Man site will probably be rarely updated. I still have some movie reviews yet to post; some are already written and just waiting for the HTML to be marked up, some are in my head, and some I just haven't gotten around to doing yet. I probably will one day, but I really don't think that is worthy (again, I use that word) of an update notification. Hongkong Heartbreaker, the red-headed stepchild site, will most likely NEVER be finished in any meaningful way. Let me tell you, CYF was a workaholic to make so many series! Just the idea of watching them leaves me exhausted, I can't imagine what it must have been like to actually MAKE them!

For all practical intents and purposes, then, this site will become static. I had a LOT of fun working on it (my first attempt at a website of any size) and I made some friends - including one very good friend, Pat Seeley - and that has made the whole thing more than worthwhile.

I hope future visitors will find this site of some use, even if it's no longer updated in any sigificant way. To those who supported its creation from the beginning, I thank you.
