for the obsessively curious
A Free Man In Hong Kong?
As I was planning this site, before I ever marked up even the index page, I was
trying to think of a good name for it. For a few days it was called Hong Kong
Heartbreaker, but only in my head. Then one evening I was lying in bed and for
some reason the words to an old Joni Mitchell song went through my head:
nbsp:He's a rambler and a gambler and a sweet talkin' ladies man...
and I thought hey, that rather fits (especially since I had just watched God of Gamblers
for the umpteenth time earlier that afternoon). So, hijacking the title of that song (A Free
Man In Paris), I decided to call this site A Free Man In Hong Kong.
Not the most interesting of tales, but at any rate that's how the site got its name.
I still rather like Hong Kong Heartbreaker, though.
