From time to time, we receive phone or email inquiries about the purchase of the domain name nbi.com
Most of these calls are from sincere people who simply want the name for their business (usually which
has the initials n, b and i, naturally). They are unaware of the history of domain name
registration. When informed of how scarce a three letter domain name is they express enlightenment,
apologize for taking up our time and the exchange ends on a pleasant note. To those people we say: Welcome
to the Internet, we hope you enjoy your stay.
Then there are those who, for some odd reason, seem to think we are idiots. "I'll give you a hundred dollars!
if you let me take over your domain!" is a favorite (though some are so stingy all they offer is to pay the
fee for changing registration). To this type of person we say: Nice try, pal.
The third and final type are those who believe they can bully us into submission and make us happily hand over
our domain name - which we've had for fifteen years, and have grown sentimental about - because they happen
to represent a concern such as a telephone company, an investment firm, a broadcast network or, for a really
choice example, a governmental agency of a little pisspot country halfway around the globe. To those
people we say: Fuck you very much.
nbi.com is not for sale unless you can offer us enough to let us live in the style to which we are eager
to become accustomed and face it - you don't have that much money, even if you are TEH PHONE COMPANY!!!111!!!
Thank you and good day.
